ORIGIN OF MACA

Maca (Lepidium meyenii) is a cruciferous plant that grows in the Peruvian Andes, mainly in the heights of Junín (bombom plateau) between 13,000 and 15,000 feet (4,100-4,500 masl). These extreme cultivation conditions favor the rich composition in nutrients and phytochemical compounds that make maca a superfood.

Maca was used since pre-Inca times. They considered it a gift from the gods. They cultivated it and offered it in various ceremonies.
